Solange Knowles -- Cop Drama Over MASSIVE Banana

TMZ has obtained the police version of what happened Sunday between cops and Solange Knowles.

Cops say Beyonce's younger sis tried entering Club Cameo in Miami Beach and was denied because she was holding a 5-foot tall, inflatable banana.  According to cops, Solange began complaining that she was turned away for racial reasons.

Cops say Knowles became unruly with off-duty officers, who took her across the street to try and calm her down.  Solange claims that's when cops pulled a "weapon" on her -- we're told she claimed it was a knife -- and threatened to deflate the banana.

Miami Beach PD Internal Affairs must investigate all such complaints, so they're getting in touch with her.

Kid Cudi is NOT Don Draper, so he doesn't get to smoke wherever he wants -- and he learned that lesson the hard way when he sparked up at the MTV VMAs last night.

Honchos at the Nokia Theater at L.A. Live spotted the rapper puffing away as Lady Gaga went on stage to accept the award for Best Female Video -- which is a problem because the place is a non-smoking venue.

A rep for the building tells TMZ an usher was dispatched to speak with Cudi -- where, "He was asked to put it out and he complied."

And they all lived happily ever after.

JaMarcus Russell -- Back from the Debt

NFL bust JaMarcus Russell is still paying for the mess he made in Oakland ... but this time it's a good thing.

TMZ has learned ... the #1 overall pick in the 2007 Draft was hit with a $223,180.05 lien by the State of California Tax Board for failing to pay his taxes in 2008 ... when he still played for the Raiders.

But this story has a happy ending, because according to court documents filed in Alameda County, CA -- JaMarcus recently paid off his debt the lien has been released.

Russell still has ties to Oakland -- where a $2.4 million mansion he owns is still in foreclosure and is set to be auctioned off next month ... unless he decides to pay off the debts and penalties.

FYI -- Russell famously signed a RIDICULOUS contract worth around $60 mil in 2007 -- and then proceeded to only win seven games in three pathetic seasons.
