Bee Gees co-founder Robin Gibb is hospitalized in the U.K. ... where he's being treated for severe abdominal pain and inflammation of the colon.
Gibb's rep released a statement ... saying the singer was admitted yesterday and is undergoing tests. He also calls the situation a "difficult time."
The rep adds, "Robin would like to thank all his friends and fans for their good wishes and sends them his love."
